Welcome Back!

There was a ray of sunshine to the coming back of Rodarte after two years of absence. At last, he made a romantic return to NYC fashion scene exhibiting and bringing his work of art through pieces which were all about frills, details and fabrics.

Shows getting better and better

Every show during the fashion week was fabulous and of course a great HIT.   Presentation got better and better as designers and fashion brands were presented in fantastic production. Spectators noticed the recurring appearances of materials, designs and the overall style of garments.

Here is a list to determine which trend dominated the fashion week:

  1. Animal prints, and more animal prints dominated the ramps

Tom Ford and all his 36 models were decked in animal prints. He was keen in using animal prints in ordinary classic colors of yellow and black with splashes of neon colors. They were made in extra bold sizes that contributed to the whole crazy animal print trend going on. A few variations were added by Adam Selman.

  1. Hot and bold hosiery

From glittery to colorful, hosiery has taken over the fashion week and they are all attractive to the eyes. Coming in time for fall and winter, you can now stock up on all those trendy statement socks.

  1. Look pretty in soft pink

Soft pink like soft rose petals is the look of this NYFW fashion week, and probably the look of the rest of the season. Match the look with dew-soaked lips to create a natural glow. See the pinkish glow Rachel Zoe and Rebecca Minkoff as models of the soft, fresh, modern and youthful look!

  1. Shine with bejeweled pieces

Fashion week designers and brands opted for the most embellished and bejeweled of all the outerwear – from patches to many different kinds of jewels. Every designer expresses his individuality by showcasing the brand’s uniqueness that became a venue of craftsmanship.

  1. Welcome comeback of Anoraks

Anoraks are cool again, and this time they are getting that urban vibe and more. Oscar de la Renta has dressier version while Public School makes a more casual look. Models paraded wrapped in windbreaker, parka, anorak or whatever you want to call them. Other versions were showcased by Calvin Klein, Dion Lee and Claudia Li.

The Claudia Li episode

Claudia Li, designer from China who grew up in New Zealland created waves after she presented her spring 2019 collection with a cast of all Asian models. She said in an interview that the fashion industry needs an Asian girl for the show. Asian girl could be a Filipino, Chinese, Singaporean, Korean, etc. The world of fashion is for all models.

There is arguably a long list of breathtaking moments in the 2018 in the New York Fashion Week. Models, designers and fashion brands used the runway to make a mark, create a message and represent the fashion industry.
